About Farzad Bonyadi
Farzad Bonyadi Player Bio
- 3 WSOP Bracelets
- One of the best cash-game players in Los Angeles for years
Farzad Bonyadi plays online at Full Tilt Poker.
Farzad learned poker from his grandfather when he was growing up in Tehran, Iran. His grandfather was an avid player who, with their relatives and neighbors, hosted home games where Farzad would sit and watch them play.
Farzad moved to the United States in 1982, settling in Los Angeles where his first jobs were at casinos. For him, it was like being back at home. He was a proposition player, a shift manager, and a host all before he turned pro.
For years, Farzad sat in the biggest games in LA and would regularly play against Johnny Chan, Freddy Deeb, Ted Forrest, David Oppenheim, and Howard Lederer - like with his family, he would learn from these great players. It paid off in 1998 when Farzad won his first bracelet in a $2,000 Limit Hold 'em event at the second World Series of Poker tournament he ever attended. In 2004, he won his second bracelet in 2-7 Triple Draw, and in 2005, Farzad won his third in $2,500 No-Limit Hold 'em.
